" LET'S GET RID of the STATE " by Jeffrey TUCKER ©️ Very Happy

The state is a PARASYTICAL institution that exists to EXPLOIT subjects, to protect an ILLEGITIMATE ruling class and to MONOPOLIZE resources and territories !

The state in all times and all places wants a population of despairing, dreary, hopeless, and weighted-down people.
Why ? Because such people don't do anything. They are predictable, categorizable, pliable, and essentially powerless. Such people offer no surprises, threaten no change, destabilize nothing.

This is the ideal world that the bureaucrats, the plutocrats, and the technocrats desire. It makes their life easy and the path clear. Today is just yesterday and tomorrow - forever. This is the machine that the state wants to manage, a world of down-in-the-dumps and obedient citizens of the society they think they own.
In contrast, hope upsets the prevailing order. It sees things that don't yet exist.

It acts on a promise of a future different from today. It plays with the uncertainty of the future and dares imagine that ideals can become reality. Those who think this way are a threat to every regime.
Why ? Because people who think this way eventually come to act this way. They resist. They rebel. They overthrow.

And yet look around: we see progress everywhere. What does this imply ?
It implies that non-compliance is the human norm. People cannot be forever pressed into a mold of the state's making.
The future will happen and it will be shaped by those who dare to break bad, dare to disagree, and dare to take the risk to overthrow what is in favor of what can be.

I realized all this some years ago, and then when you begin to look around and see how the power elites do not and cannot rule, you discover the whole secret to social order.
It turns out that they are not really in control, not finally. Then it all becomes fun. It is a blast to see the powerful topple from the thrones they want to sit in so badly. It is a thrill to use and hold technologies that no one among the elite ever gave permission to exist.

It is a kick to see how the market -- meaning human beings acting with vision toward the future -- is so constantly outwitting the arrogant planners who want to freeze history, control our minds and wreck our world.

Jeffrey TUCKER

Is an umbrella term for a number of ideologies which believe that there should be NO GOVERNMENT and a free market economic system.
As OPPOSED to anarcho socialism, anarcho communism and anarcho syndicalism which focus on shifting ownership of property, companies etc. to the masses.

Anarcho socialist types believe " Property is theft " while anarcho capitalists believe " PROPERTY IS FREEDOM " !
Anarcho capitalists believe that a free market is the only truly anarchist economic system.
The concept was popularized by Murray ROTHBARD (BIO @ of the AUSTRIAN SCHOOL of ECONOMICS ( !

Etymology of Anarchy ?

The word anarchy comes from the ancient Greek ἀναρχία (anarchia), which combines ἀ (a), " Not, Without " and ἀρχή (arkhi), " Ruler, Leader, Authority ".
Thus, the term refers to a person or society " without rulers " or " without leaders ".

" Producing laws is not an easier problem than producing cars or food " says David Friedman, author, philosopher and professor at Santa Clara University.
" So if the government's incompetent to produce cars or food, why do you expect it to do a good job producing the legal system within which you are then going to produce the cars and the food ? "
Friedman sat down to talk with Reason TV @ Libertopia 2012 in San Diego. Friedman reflected on the impact of his landmark book, The Machinery of Freedom, discussed the differences between libertarianism & anarcho-capitalism and revealed what his father, economist Milton Friedman, thought of his anarchist leanings !

Dear Libertarian Friend :

Decades ago, when I was young and in college, and just starting my journey into the world of libertarian thought in earnest, I ate most of my meals in the campus cafeteria.
Every night after dinner, I’d walk out the front door smack into a crowd of radical students distributing a communist newspaper. I'm not kidding: hammer and sickle and everything.
When they tried to talk me into taking a copy, I refused and explained I was a free-marketeer, which invariably started a heated argument.
I have to confess that I didn’t always cover myself with glory when defending free market thinking.
You see, I was pretty sure the free market was the best way for society to be arranged. But I didn’t always have the facts, figures, and logical arguments to back it up.
Today, that’s all different.
For instance, at a cocktail party, a leftist and I got into a verbal dust-up when he insisted that socialism was the moral approach to government because it helps the poor, while capitalism helps only the rich.
Instead of trying to frame my argument on the fly, I defended the free market with well-thought-out rationales I have acquired through decades of studying and writing about libertarian thought and capitalism.

“ In a market economy, producers earn and keep profits, which they use to buy equipment and hire workers, enabling them to produce in much greater quantities at lower cost,” I explained to my leftist opponent.
“ People’s real incomes rise, and they become better off, because the economy becomes physically capable of producing in greater and greater abundance at ever lower costs, and the benefit of this greater abundance is lower prices, increasing consumer buying power.”

By the way, this is precisely what happened during the 19th and 20th centuries: People at the end of the last century had to work far less than those at the beginning of the 1900s to earn the necessary purchasing power to buy a wide range of important consumer goods. And this is why the poorest suffer the fewest deprivations in the world’s most market-friendly societies.
With his leftist worldview dismantled in about 120 seconds, my verbal sparring partner left without a comeback and walked off in a huff. That always gives me tremendous satisfaction.

I’m Tom Woods. I am the best-selling author of 12 books on libertarianism and free-market economics, including The Politically Incorrect Guide to American History. See my bio at left for more details.
I have spent literally tens of thousands of dollars and more than a decade acquiring degrees in history, including a bachelor's from Harvard and Ph.D. from Columbia, and have dedicated my life to defending free-market thought and teaching it to others.
But I realize most people don’t have the time, funds, or inclination to devote almost a decade of their lives to school and study like I did. And so I found the perfect solution – an online resource that can give you the equivalent of a doctoral degree in libertarian philosophy, politics, and economics in months or even weeks instead of years.

With this new knowledge, you can master the facts and arguments behind the libertarian ideas you hold dear, so you can persuade your critics of the correctness of your position. And you can get this free-market education online, without leaving your home, for just 24 cents a day ! Introducing….

What is the status of animal rights ? How are we going to achieve a free society ? How will drug use be dealt with ? ..

" Even if we did achieve what we wanted with a very small state, we'd just be resetting the clock back to 1776 and it would roll forward exactly the same way again " says Freedomain Radio's Stefan Molyneux.
Reason magazine's Matt Welch sat down with Molyneux at FreedomFest 2012 and discussed why he thinks the libertarian ideal of a small state will inevitably grow, and why the absence of any form of the state is the only answer.
" If you look at America, which was the experiment of the smallest conceivable government, what grows out of that is the largest government the world has ever seen" says Molyneux.
Held each July in Las Vegas, FreedomFest is attended by around 2 000 limited-government enthusiasts and libertarians a year.
ReasonTV spoke with over two dozen speakers and attendees and will be releasing interviews over the coming weeks.

Keith Preston discusses the concept of tribal anarchism. Topics include :
* The origins of the political philosophy of anarchism and its critique of the state as a uniquely and inherently parasitical institution;
* The three major traditions within anarchism: the leftist-socialist tradition, the Anglo-American libertarian tradition, and elitist-individualist "anarchism of the right";
* The many different sects and tendencies within anarchism and how the meta-political theory of tribal anarchism allows for a synthesis of these divergent strands;
* How anarchism might work on a practical level and how common objections to the anarchist viewpoint might be answered;
* How anarchism properly understood is a polar opposite political philosophy to the prevailing totalitarian humanist ideology of the existing Western ruling classes;
* Why the Left is currently a greater threat to anarchism than the Right and how "political correctness" is a continuation of the tradition of authoritarian leftism associated with Marxism.

Karl Hess was a noted speechwriter (for Barry Goldwater among others) and author, and later in his life became known as a tax resister, welder, and market anarchist.
In this video from a National Libertarian Party convention in 1985, Hess speaks about how the invention of various tools throughout history has changed the world for the better, in many cases despite the best efforts of bureaucrats and politicians. He also gives general remarks about the libertarian movement and gives advice regarding his own brand of simple, harmonious living.

(Karl is a strong contender for a real-life Most Interesting Man in the World) !

Karl Hess (May 25, 1923 – April 22, 1994) was an American national-level speechwriter and author.
He was also a political philosopher, editor, welder, motorcycle racer, tax resister, atheist, and libertarian activist. His career included stints on the Republican right and the New Left before embracing free-market anarchism.

Early life

Hess was born Carl Hess III in Washington, D.C. and moved to the Philippines as a child. When his mother discovered his father's marital infidelity, she divorced her wealthy husband and returned (with Karl) to Washington.
She refused alimony or child support and took a job as a telephone operator, raising her son in very modest circumstances. Karl, believing (as his mother did) that public education was a waste of time, rarely attended school; to evade truancy officers, he registered at every elementary school in town and gradually withdrew from each one, making it impossible for the authorities to know exactly where he was supposed to be.
He officially dropped out at 15 and went to work for the Mutual Broadcasting System as a newswriter at the invitation of Walter Compton, a Mutual news commentator who resided in the building where Mrs.

Hess operated the switchboard. Hess continued to work in the news media, and by age 18 was assistant city editor of The Washington Daily News. He was later an editor for Newsweek and The Fisherman. After that, he worked for the Champion Papers and Fibre Company, where his bosses encouraged him to get involved in conservative politics for the company's benefit.
In doing so he met Arizona Senator Barry Goldwater and many other prominent Republicans, thus beginning the GOP epoch of his life.

Hess enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942, but was discharged when they discovered he had contracted malaria in the Philippines.

In his book Dear America, Hess wrote that he became an atheist because his temporary job as a coroner's assistant when he was 15 left him convinced that people were simply flesh-and-blood beings with no afterlife. Consequently, he stopped attending church (he had been a devout Roman Catholic).

Years later, while on leave from Champion and working for the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), he resumed attending church because virtually all of his AEI colleagues did so. His return merely reinforced his atheism; on one Sunday morning, while enduring a service as his young son sat on his lap, Hess became disgusted with himself for exposing his child to an institution he himself had rejected.

World Class & Exclusive Video on " LIBERTY " (1 of 5) !!
Never-before-seen footage of this iconoclastic freedom fighter. Recorded on VHS and 8MM tapes in 1987 by Robert Kelsey, the series captures Hess at his finest.

A colorful and provocative survey of anarchism in America, the film attempts to dispel popular misconceptions and trace the historical development of the movement.
The film explores the movement both as a native American philosophy stemming from 19th century American traditions of individualism and as a foreign ideology brought to America by immigrants.
The film features rare archival footage and interviews with significant personalities in anarchist history including Murray Boochkin and Karl Hess and also live performance footage of the Dead Kennedys !!

" The Anarchist Kid " in " A KING in NEW YORK " by Charlie CHAPLIN (1957) ©️
An excerpt from the film " A king in New York " realized by Charles Spencer Chaplin, alias Charlie Chaplin in 1957.
In this scene, you can see Charlie Chaplin in the role of " His Majesty " and his son in the role of the anarchist kid !
A King in New York is a 1957 British comedy film directed by and starring Charlie Chaplin in his last leading role, which co-stars, among others, his young son Michael. The film presents a satirical view of the McCarthy communist-hunt era and certain other aspects of United States politics and society.
The film, which was produced in Europe after Chaplin's exile from the U.S. in 1952, did not open in the United States until 1973.

Sir Charles Spencer " Charlie " Chaplin, KBE (16 April 1889 – 25 Dec 1977) was an English comic actor, filmmaker and composer who rose to fame in the silent era. Chaplin became a worldwide icon through his screen persona " the Tramp " and is considered one of the most important figures in the history of the film industry.
His career spanned more than 75 years, from childhood in the Victorian era until a year before his death in 1977, and encompassed both adulation and controversy.

Chaplin's childhood in London was one of poverty and hardship. As his father was absent and his mother struggled financially, he was sent to a workhouse twice before the age of nine. When he was 14, his mother was committed to a mental asylum. Chaplin began performing at an early age, touring music halls and later working as a stage actor and comedian.

At 19 he was signed to the prestigious Fred Karno company, which took him to America. Chaplin was scouted for the film industry, and began appearing in 1914 for Keystone Studios. He soon developed the Tramp persona and formed a large fan base.

Chaplin directed his own films from an early stage, and continued to hone his craft as he moved to the Essanay, Mutual, and First National corporations.

By 1918, he was one of the best known figures in the world !!!!

" RADICAL AGENDA : EP # 200 - LET DOWN " by Christopher CANTWELL ©️
I am profoundly disappointed following Monday night's presidential debate. I had hoped for a verbal prison rape and perhaps a stroke or heart attack. Instead I was subjected to 90 minutes of Hillary Clinton lying with the help of Lester Holt and little in the way of resistance from Donald Trump.
Surely the political pros that have handed this country to the left for the last century have gotten in Trump's ear telling him to maintain his composure, to appear presidential, to disavow the same bombast that won him the Republican primary. All for fear of angering his opponents and their mainstream media allies. In my opinion, Trump does not wear this well and it comes off as obvious. Trump's greatest talent is to run unfiltered and rattle the listener with his tone. Absent this, he comes off just as calculating and deceptive as Hillary Clinton, but without the pre-packaged phony policy details that give the average pleb the false idea that the half dead Democrat nominee is well informed.
But perhaps I'm just more anxious for blood than the average voter. The latest LA Times poll has Trump ahead by 4 points following the debate - continuing the momentum that has been swinging in his favor ever since bringing Bannon and Conway on board with his campaign. Perhaps a bit of a lullaby is just what the American voter needs right now, and we can save shock and awe for the Oval Office.

But I'm just so terrified of what could happen if we lose this election, and I want to see that strength from our champion - even if only to provide me with some reassurance. Contemplating the consequences of a Clinton presidency makes me want to prepare for war, hide, and flee the country all at the same time. If we lose this election, we cannot simply wait for the next one. It will come to pass, that the "2nd Amendment People" the "less verbose warriors" amongst us, will have no choice but to shed blood in a conflict whose outcome is far from certain.

I can hardly believe we're already at the end of September. It seems like just yesterday I was complaining about police on Free Talk Live, but here we are in the current year fully aware that Googles are prone to criminality and in need of physical removal. Somebody probably ought to inform the folks in California about this, because fresh on the heels of Charlotte, NC, another vibrant, cultured youth (Alfred Olango, 38) got himself shot in San Diego when he pointed a vape pen at police like a gun. Protests have turned violent, according to news reports, but perhaps it would be more accurate to say that rioters are trying to paint their crime spree as a demonstration.

" ECONOMICS in 1 LESSON " (Best Free-Market Economics Book of All Time) by Henry HAZLITT ©️
Best short explanation on HOW the WORLD WORKS (dixit Doug Casey) !

Economics in One Lesson is an introduction to free market economics written by Henry Hazlitt and first published in 1946. It is based on Frédéric Bastiat's essay " Ce qu'on voit et ce qu'on ne voit pas (English : " What is Seen and What is Not Seen ").
The " One Lesson " is stated in Part One of the book :
The art of economics consists in looking not merely at the immediate but at the longer effects of any act or policy; it consists in tracing the consequences of that policy not merely for one group but for all groups.
Part 2 consists of 24 chapters, each demonstrating the lesson by tracing the effects of one common economic belief, and exposing common economic belief as a series of fallacies.
Among its policy recommendations are the advocacy of free trade, an opposition to price controls, an opposition to monetary inflation, and an opposition to stimulative governmental expenditures :

There are men regarded today as brilliant economists, who deprecate saving and recommend squandering on a national scale as the way of economic salvation and when anyone points to what the consequences of these policies will be in the long run, they reply flippantly, as might the prodigal son of a warning father : ' In the long run we are all dead '. And such shallow wisecracks pass as devastating epigrams and the ripest wisdom.

Anarchy, State, and Utopia is a 1974 book by the American political philosopher Robert Nozick. It won the 1975 U.S. National Book Award in category Philosophy and Religion, has been translated into 11 languages, and was named one of the " 100 most influential books since the war " (1945–1995) by the U.K. Times Literary Supplement.

In opposition to A Theory of Justice (1971) by John Rawls and in debate with Michael Walzer, Nozick argues in favor of a minimal state, " limited to the narrow functions of protection against force, theft, fraud, enforcement of contracts, and so on ".
When a state takes on more responsibilities than these, Nozick argues, rights will be violated. To support the idea of the minimal state, Nozick presents an argument that illustrates how the minimalist state arises naturally from anarchy and how any expansion of state power past this minimalist threshold is unjustified.

Nozick's entitlement theory, which sees humans as ends in themselves and justifies redistribution of goods only on condition of consent, is a key aspect of Anarchy, State, and Utopia. It is influenced by John Locke, Immanuel Kant, and Friedrich Hayek.
The book also contains a vigorous defense of minarchist libertarianism against more extreme views, such as anarcho-capitalism (in which there is no state and individuals must contract with private companies for all social services). Nozick argues that anarcho-capitalism would inevitably transform into a minarchist state, even without violating any of its own non-aggression principles, through the eventual emergence of a single locally dominant private defense and judicial agency that it is in everyone's interests to align with, because other agencies are unable to effectively compete against the advantages of the agency with majority coverage.
Therefore, he felt that, even to the extent that the anarcho-capitalist theory is correct, it results in a single, private, protective agency which is itself a de facto " state ". Thus anarcho-capitalism may only exist for a limited period before a minimalist state emerges.

" ATLAS SHRUGGED " (The # 1 book that transformed generations of readers into ardent anti-communists & dynamic libertarians !) by Ayn RAND ©️

When Ludwig Von Mises read Atlas Shrugged, he was so impressed by her criticism of bureaucrats that he wrote her a " fan letter " : Atlas was " not merely a novel. It is also—or may I say first of all—a cogent analysis of the evils that plague our society, a substantiated rejection of the ideology of our self-styled ' intellectuals ' and a pitiless unmasking of the insincerity of the policies adopted by governments and political parties.
It is a devastating exposure of the ' moral cannibals ', the ' gigolos of science ' and of the ' academic prattle ' of the makers of the ' anti-industrial revolution '. You have the courage to tell the masses what no politician told them : you are inferior and all the improvements in your conditions which you simply take for granted you owe to the effort of men who are better than you " !!

Atlas Shrugged is a 1957 novel by Ayn Rand. Rand's 4h and last novel, it was also her longest and the one she considered to be her magnum opus in the realm of fiction writing. Atlas Shrugged includes elements of science fiction, mystery and romance and it contains Rand's most extensive statement of Objectivism in any of her works of fiction.

The book depicts a dystopian United States, wherein many of society's most prominent and successful industrialists abandon their fortunes and even the nation, in response to aggressive new regulations, whereupon most vital industries collapse.
The title is a reference to Atlas, a Titan described in the novel as " the giant who holds the world on his shoulders ". The significance of this reference appears in a conversation between the characters Francisco d'Anconia and Hank Rearden, in which d'Anconia asks Rearden what advice he would give Atlas upon seeing that " the greater [the titan's] effort, the heavier the world bore down on his shoulders ".
With Rearden unable to answer, d'Anconia gives his own response : " To shrug ".

The theme of Atlas Shrugged, as Rand described it, is " the role of man's mind in existence ". The book explores a number of philosophical themes from which Rand would subsequently develop Objectivism.
In doing so, it expresses the advocacy of reason, individualism, capitalism, and the failures of governmental coercion.

Atlas Shrugged received largely negative reviews after its 1957 publication, but achieved enduring popularity and consistent sales (10 000 000 books sold !!!!!) in the following decades.

(born Alisa Zinov'yevna Rosenbaum; Feb 2 1905 – March 6, 1982) was a Russian-American novelist, philosopher, playwright & screenwriter.

She is known for her 2 best-selling novels,
The Fountainhead & Atlas Shrugged, and for developing a philosophical system she called Objectivism.

Born and educated in Russia, Rand moved to the United States in 1926. She had a play produced on Broadway in 1935–1936. After two early novels that were initially unsuccessful in America, she achieved fame with her 1943 novel, The Fountainhead.

In 1957, she published her best-known work, the novel Atlas Shrugged. Afterward, she turned to non-fiction to promote her philosophy, publishing her own magazines and releasing several collections of essays until her death in 1982.
Rand advocated reason as the only means of acquiring knowledge and rejected faith and religion. She supported rational and ethical egoism, and rejected altruism.
In politics, she condemned the initiation of force as immoral and opposed collectivism and statism as well as anarchism, instead supporting laissez-faire capitalism, which she defined as the system based on recognizing individual rights.

In art, Rand promoted romantic realism. She was sharply critical of most philosophers and philosophical traditions known to her, except for some Aristotelians and classical liberals.

Literary critics received Rand's fiction with mixed  reviews, and academia generally ignored or rejected her philosophy, though academic interest has increased in recent decades.

The Objectivist movement attempts to spread her ideas, both to the public and in academic settings.
She has been a significant influence among libertarians and American conservatives.

In 1957, a 1,168 page book by Ayn Rand, called Atlas Shrugged, was published. According to one source, Rand was alleged to be a mistress to Philippe Rothschild, who instructed her to write the book in order to show that through the raising of oil prices, then destroying the oil fields and shutting down the coal mines, the Illuminati would take over the world. It also related how they would blow up grain mills, derail trains, bankrupt and destroy their own companies, till they had destroyed the economy of the entire world and yet, they would be so wealthy, that it would not substantially affect their vast holdings.
The novel is about a man who stops the motor of the world, of what happens when " the men of the mind, the intellectuals of the world, the originators and innovators in every line of industry go on strike; when the men of creative ability in every profession, in protest against regulation, quit and disappear ".
